Publishing Articles - The Many Benefits of Publishing Articles through Online Syndication
Publishing Articles ... ... can be a viable means of earning a living online. Although you may be familiar with the process of selling articles to magazine publishers, you may not be aware of how you can benefit from submitting articles to online directories and syndication services. In this article, we'll explore the process and the benefits this can bring to authors, webmasters and anyone who has a product or service to promote. As an author and webmaster, I have submitted many articles on various subjects to online article syndication services. In addition to helping you build an online platform, when web publishers post your article to their sites, they must also publish your bio which appears at the end of your article and contains a link back to your site. The in-pointing links (links that point from other sites to yours) increase your traffic (because surfers read your article and click over to your site) and your Google Page Rank (which is one of the ways that Google gauges the popularity of your site.) Since your article offers valuable information to web surfers, it establishes your credibility and engenders trust, making it much more likely that readers will sign up for your newsletter or purchase the product or service you are promoting. Of course there are other benefits to promoting your knowledge through online syndication. For instance, I have been hired for speaking engagements after an event organizer read one of my articles. Another article attracted the attention of the owner of a catalog. Now he's going to include my book in his next catalog which will be distributed nationally in the U.S. and Canada. If you're an author and you don't currently have a web site, you should take the time to learn about the benefits of e-publishing, but first read the rest of this article. Of course, these benefits can be realized by publishing articles to most any online directory. The bigger directories are better since they attract more web visitors which means your articles are more likely to be syndicated by big traffic sites. Although I've been submitting articles to these directories for years, one thing that has always bothered me a bit was that the directory earned money from my work by posting ads alongside my content. Of course, this is nothing new—this is how magazine publishers earn money. But recently, in my continuous quest to promote my book and web sites, I ran across a new kind of article directory which gives you all the benefits of syndication, but also allows you to earn money in a number of ways (and you don't even need a web site to do this). For the sake of brevity, we will explore two ways of earning income from your content. First, you can post affiliate links in the body of your article as well as in your bio. In other directories, this is not permitted. This means you can make affiliate commissions from an article even though it is posted on a directory site. To give you an example, let's say that you've written an article on getting out of debt. In the article, you offer important tips and also mention the budgeting software that you've used to get back in the black. If you happen to be an affiliate of the software maker, then when someone follows your recommendation and buys the software through your link, you earn a commission, even though the article wasn't even posted on your site. For those who have submitted articles in the past, this is a revolutionary idea. Second: after your article is accepted to the directory, it appears on a page with some ads (Google Adsense ads and other tasteful ads.) When visitors click on the ads (and they will because the people who run this directory know how to generate traffic), you split the revenue. These are just two ways (of eight ways total) to earn revenue from your articles, while still getting the benefits of syndication. So how do you get started publishing articles? The first step is to sign up for the service. Simply click on article directory and click on Register Now. You might also want to watch the video, so you have a clear idea of the benefits. Then sign up for Affiliate Classroom which costs nothing and is another way to build recurring income. Next, look for articles you have already written (or write some new ones) and submit them in the proper categories. (If these are article you have already posted to your site, rework them a bit, so they won't be viewed by the search engines as duplicate articles). For instance if you have a book on travel or an online travel agency, you might write an article on packing light. An article should be anywhere from 300-600 words and should give important information, tips and/or solve a problem. For instance, I write articles on issues related to parenting that promote both my parenting web site and my parenting book. A well-written article on how to deal with common child behavior problems could lead to another sale of my book.
