Publishing an Ebook

by Jackie Q

I have a question about publishing an ebook from a previously self published book. Is there a conversion process or do I just upload the pdf for the traditional book to the ebook site?

Converting an Ebook from a Previously Published Book
by: Laura Ramirez

Yes, Jackie, you are right. There is nothing involved in converting an ebook from a previously published book because both the ebook and the traditional book use the same PDF file, regardless of whether the book is sent to an offset printer to create a book that you can hold in your hands or delivered electronically as an ebook to your customers.

There may be parameters in the set up of the PDF that will vary though, so you might want to check with the ebook site where you intend to sell your ebook. Also, you might want to consider creating a web site of your own to market your ebook and create a platform of readers who might also be interested in reading your next book. This particular web site company makes it very easy for non-technical people to create a site where they can focus on their writing and create a site by typing text into boxes. In other words, you will not get bogged down by technology.

The other thing that will be different is the cover design. For more information, read this article about the considerations for making a cover for ebook.
