Market Your Ebook - 5 Effective Promotion Strategies to Jumpstart Sales
If you learn how to properly market your ebook, you can jumpstart your sales and sell a lot of books.
There are many success stories of authors who have made nice profits
online selling their ebooks. The difference between those who make a
name for themselves and those who fade into obscurity can be summarized
by the 3 p's: promotion, promotion, promotion. In this article, I'll
give you some savvy, yet easy-to-follow techniques for spreading the
word about your work and increasing sales.
Market Your Ebook: 4 Top Strategies
- Build a web site that is focused on the subject matter of your book.
Provide just enough content on your pages that visitors will start to trust you and your expertise and will want to get more information by
purchasing your ebook. Okay, I know this sounds like a lot of hard work,
but not if you use the web building system
I used to create this site. For just $299 per year, you'll get a domain
name, the tools to build a professional-looking web site (by typing text into boxes), the
education you'll need to build your site the right way (so it actually
gets targeted traffic which generates sales) and extras, like the
ability to create a blog, publish a newsletter and an RSS feed. I've been using this
company's tools for almost 10 years and have built 5 sites and still believe that this is the best system on the web. What I like most: you don't have to
be a geek to build a web site that gets lots of targeted traffic.
- Write a press release to tell the world about your book. The smart way to do this is to tie the subject matter of your book to something that is currently happening in the news. Doing this, makes your press release newsworthy which is essential to getting it published. Be creative here and refrain from being promotional. The title of your press release must be catchy and compel journalist and editors to read more. Put the most important information in the first paragraph. Make it compelling. In the final paragraph, you can talk a bit about yourself, your book and even include a link to your web site. This is a great way to get the word out about your book, make contact with journalists and get traffic to your site.
- Make short videos on different topics related to your book and post them on video sites with links back to your sales page on your web site. This is called video marketing. It's fun, creative and a great way to market your ebook because if done properly, it generates lots of targeted traffic. Like anything, if you want your marketing efforts to yield real results, you need to learn from those who know the ins and outs. - Use offline promotional methods. Mail friends,
relatives and colleagues announcing the publication
of your ebook. A good way to do this is to create a postcard with a graphic of your book on the front of the postcard and a synopsis on the back. Include a link to your web site, so those who are interested can enter their email address to download a free chapter. Obviously, this will achieve three
things: get people to your web site, convince them to enter their email addresses (and build your email list) and whet their appetite for more. The printing company that I use to print my business and post cards does quality work and has a quick turnaround time. You can order cards on line or find a printer in your local area.
