How to Blog Your Way to Success
How to Blog ... If you've been wanting to start your own home-based business, blogging is an excellent way to go. Another form of web publishing, in recent years, blogs have proliferated so much that Technorati (a web site which tracks blogs) estimates that 175,000 new ones are created every minute. Obviously, with such overwhelming numbers, some succeed, while many fail. How do you ensure success? By learning from those who have been-there-done-that and are succeeding heads-and-shoulders above the rest. When it comes to blogs, what determines success? First: traffic, second: income. Why is traffic primary? Because without traffic, you have no readership. Think of a store that has no traffic through its front doors. On the web, attracting targeted readers to your blog is the currency of your success. There's a lot to understand about creating a blog. For instance, you have to know about RSS feeds and how to ping your readers. You need to learn about Blog rolls and more. That said, in many ways, it's much easier (and less expensive) to learn how to blog than build a web site. What's the difference between the two? If you're not sure, click on what is a blog? Rather than read a bunch of books or learn how to blog by trial and error (possibly, at the cost of your success), learn from mentors who are successfully doing what you want to do and will teach you everything you need to know in a friendly, self-paced, online learning environment that will give you the best possible start plus access to the lessons and resources whenever you need a refresher. If you invest in your online publishing business by first investing in your education, your success is almost guaranteed. According to the New York Times, more people are reading content online and turning less and less to books. This opens up a whole new area of electronic publishing. With the introduction of wireless reading devices like the Amazon Kindle that lets you download and carry hundreds of books and online content with you, why clutter your home with bookshelves or lug around a bunch of heavy books? Will books become obsolete or will they become the blogs of the future? Don't twiddle your thumbs waiting to find out. One thing I know for sure: content is king and fresh, short bursts of interesting content will keep web visitors coming back for more. Do what I did when I wanted to create my first blog ... learn from the masters. Super bloggers, Rosalind Gardner and Anik Singal will teach you everything you need to know to ensure your online success. Don't be like the majority of bloggers out there whose only readers are me, myself and I or perhaps their spouse and friends. Do things right the first time. Invest in yourself.
