Copyright Page in Book or Ebook

I am wondering where I can find information on creating the copyright page in your book or ebook. Also how do I go about making it.

Copyright Page Information
by: Laura Ramirez

The information included on your copyright page will be different depending on whether you are publishing a book or ebook. This is because a physical book usually has a Library of Congress Catalog Number (LCCN) and a PCIP (Publishers Catalog in Print) block.

Generally, an ebook has less information on the copyright page because it does not have a LCCN and PCIP. (These are needed only for books that will be kept in libraries because it assists libraries with properly categorizing and shelving the book.)

Both ebooks and physical books should have the following information:

  • Title of the book, subtitle, author name
  • Name and address of publishing company
  • Copyright notice and statement
  • Attributions for cover design, photo etc.
  • A medical disclaimer (if appropriate to the subject matter of your book).

To give you an idea of what the page layout should look like, I have scanned and uploaded the copyright page from my parenting book, Keepers of the Children: Native American Wisdom and Parenting.

You can view the page layout and a more detailed explanation by clicking on copyright page

Hope this helps.
