Copyright for an Ebook

by Clay B

Thank you for your website, I have been finding it very helpful in my quest to self publish an ebook.

In reading the only place I have seen mention of obtaining a copyright is with print books...I assume I need to obtain a copyright for an ebook. If so, I could not find any mention of how to go about obtaining this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Copyright for Ebook - Is this Important?
by: Laura Ramirez

Just as with publishing a printed book, you need to get a copyright for your ebook because it protects your work in the event that someone tries to steal your work. Believe me when I tell you that taking this extra step is important because the piracy on the internet is out of control. Recently, I discovered that a book that I wrote and sell on one of my sites is available as a free download on a site. Although the site owner is not making money from my work, he does not have my permission to give it away for free. As the owner of the ebook copyright, I am protected by the law.

Your ebook also needs an ISBN number which uniquely identifies your work, so just follow all the steps outlined on this site for obtaining an ISBN and copyright for ebook.
