Author of traditional books wants to publish them as eBooks

I'm an author of several older books by named publishers and when they went out of print I wrote for and received the copyright for these works. In a publishing seminar at the Amer Book Sellers convention, I attended a seminar by Google staff who said that I could send them az complete hardcopy books and that they would make them into eBooks for free and compensate me (I believe it was at 70% or so) and that I could set the price.
I did a search and found two of my books: Tenderness Is Strength and Angling in the Smile of the Great Spirit both on line in the Google Books store, but the complete books were there and were up for free when I wanted to sell them!
Also I have two other books I wish to publish as eBooks, one a psychology and education text and trade book called, On Becoming a teacher, with my famous mentor and author Carl Rogers. I want this to be used as a text in university courses in psychology and education but how can I get the book made into the various eBook formats for Kindle and Apple's iBooks on their iStore?
A firm sent me an ad saying they would convert my MSW ms into all the various formats for eBook sales and distribute to all the various outlets for $149 plus 15% of the royalties which I got from the various sales. This seems like a cost of my profits I need not pay if I can get the conversions myself for free or for the cost of the various software to convert.
What do you suggest?
Thanks,
Harold Lyon
