Write, Self Publish and Sell Your Ebook on the Web, Issue #014 -- Write Your Book this Year
January 03, 2006
Create Lasting Change by Writing Your Book in 2006by Laura Ramirez
“Forget the resolutions. Forget control and discipline ... too much work. Instead try experimenting. Go in search of something to fall in love with...something about yourself, [your passions], your career, your spouse, [your child].” Dale Dauten
New Year's Resolutions. Every year people make and break them. Rather than approaching life as though you can be transformed overnight, understand that change requires engaging in a process. Since it requires making different choices than you've been making up to this point, you can start this process anytime—you do not have to wait for the the stroke of minute on December 31 to create lasting change.
Rather than creating a series of New Year's resolutions in four different areas of your life as some motivational speakers recommend, pick one significant thing in your life you want to work on. What one thing is most important to you? Look deep into your heart to find the answer. Maybe you want to finally write the book you have been fantasizing about for years. Perhaps you want to spend more time with your children. Perhaps you want to reduce your debt or lose some weight. Maybe you want to learn to be less reactive. Implicit in all of these goals is the idea that change is part of a process because each of them uses words like "more" or "less."
Make sure your goal is meaningful and is based in love, then write it down in your own hand (don't type it). For instance, "I choose to eat more fresh vegetables and fruits because I love my body, want to increase my health and reduce my weight." Place this piece of paper where old habits can be changed by making new choices—like on the fridge or on the dashboard of your car if you tend to eat at fast food joints. Read this piece of paper every time you open the fridge or get in your car to inspire you to keep making this new choice.
Rather than defining an absolute goal, like weighing 125, which may be a setup for disappointment, you are embarking on a process of discovery which includes eating more fresh vegetables and fruits. As you allow yourself to discover a new way of being in the world and the consequences of acting in this way, you open yourself to making increasingly healthier choices and as part of the process, losing weight. Change is possible for everyone, but you must make the choice in each new moment.
You can do the same thing with reducing debt or choosing
to spend more time or be less reactive with your kids.

reactive and responsive parenting and how to become a

Give Yourself and Someone You Love the Gift of Independence in 2006 (This is an excellent tool for writers who want to market their book on the web or build a subscriber base while writing their book.
If your New Year's goal is to build a business that will eventually allow you to stop working for the man, here is a solution. Building a web business is different from just putting up a web site. This company shows you how to build a web business that allows you to share your passion with like-minded individuals, build a second income and progressively walk away from the nine-to-five grind. Today only (January 3) when you purchase this web business building package, you will get a second site at no charge.
You can give the second site to a friend or relative who is struggling with financial issues. Or give it to your child or teenager and together, you can learn how to build a web business that will earn them (and you!) some spending money or allow them to save for a car or contribute to their college education. Giving a child or teen the opportunity to build a business that earns them an income is giving them a piece of self-esteem. This is the perfect way to give a troubled child a chance to find his passion and feel good about himself.
Think of all the fun you'll have building your business together with a friend, relative or with your child.
Of course, you can also keep the second site for yourself.
The web site building package is the same package I've used to build
all four of my web sites and contains everything you'll need to achieve
success on the web. Although you may not be familiar with all the
capabilities below, know that you won't have to buy another thing to
run a successful web business. In addition, the package comes with
an electronic book that explains how to brainstorm a theme for your
web site, how to build it, how to place well in the search engines, etc.
Think of how excited the gift recipient will be when they realize what
you've given them. Think of how excited you'll be when you realize
the opportunity you have given yourself.
